It looks like a lot of time and effort has gone into this video. Some music videos don't have much going on in them but this ones fun to watch, it doesn't bore you at all.

Evaluation Video

The Hangover 2!

Genre:
Comedy
Directed by:
Todd Phillips
Starring:
Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms
Release date:
Thu 26, May 2011

I was just looking through a list of new films that have been released and some that are soon to be released and i came across The Hangover 2! which I'm definitely going to see because the first one made me cry of laughter. I actually can't wait for this to be released, something to look forward to.

I just searched for the trailer on youtube and luckily its out already as its soon expected to be released. The trailer made me laugh so now i'm even more excited to see it!

Grave Encounters

I wanted to go and see this film but watching the trailer made me change my mind a little mainly because i thought the ending of the trailer ruined the whole thing. I think this because it looks really fake and every time you see someone standing with their back faced towards you in a horror film you expect them to turn around with a hideous looking face, so basically it didn't scare me either. I read through some of the comments posted by the public about what they thought of it and to no surprise many of the comments made were negative and were about the ending of the trailer. This shows that a lot of people think the same  way about the ending. Other than that i thought the rest of the trailer is quite good and builds up tension, it also makes you want to go and see it. I'm guessing that this film will get a lot of views because a high number of the public like to see paranormal stuff going on. For example a huge amount of people went to watch Paranormal Activity 1 and 2, me being one of them. I guess paranormal films manage to grab a lot of peoples attention.

Here's the trailer of Grave Encounters:

Fast & Furious 5

I haven't seen this just yet but i'm going to go see it on the weekend hopefully. I know a few people that have been to see it so i asked them whether or not it was worth while, everyone i asked seemed to love it so im quite excited to see it!

Here's the trailer:

I think this trailers really good cause it makes you want to really see the film as it looks exciting.

Final Draft!

I'm pleased to say that all our hard work paid off although it was quite tough sometimes. I'm happy with the end result and think that my group and I done a great job for our first AS piece. I hope that the people who have filled out the evaluation sheets were impressed with our work too.

AS and A2 Film Screening

On Thursday 7th April the hard work done by both AS and A2 was screened. A great amount of people attended, AS, A2, family and friends who came to support us.
I think it was a nice evening, everything went well and every ones work was excellent. All our hard work paid off in the end. I'm glad that our friends enjoyed our 2 minute opening, my mum also loved it!

Evaluation sheets were put on every ones seat to fill out and tell us what they liked about our films, this is what it looks like:
Evaluation Sheets - AS and A2
We will be getting our evaluation sheets back when we are in school to see what people thought of our opening. These will then be presented in the way that we choose.

Production Company Logos

My group and I had a look at a few production companies to gain some ideas:

Here's what we came up with and will use as a final piece to put in before our film opening:

Just Go With It

I went to the cinema with a few friends not knowing what we were going to watch. They had already bought me my ticket before i got there so i was hoping it wouldn't be something i won't like, but luckily it was a good film.

Its called 'Just Go With It' and it is a Comedy/Romance film. The film is basically about a plastic surgeon who convinces his assistant to pretend to be his soon to be divorced wife in order to cover up a lie he told his much younger girlfriend on a weekend trip to Hawaii. Personally, i found it quite funny and entertaining. The endings the cutest part. I don't know whether or not to give the ending away but i'm going to anyway. At the end the surgeon and his assistant confess that they love each other and live happily ever after, as they do.

Here's the trailer:

Idea For Title Of Film

This is just a rough idea of the type of style we would like our title to look like. Although this is not a definite idea we tried out a quick practice to take a look at what it would look like and whether or not it will fit in with our film.

Shocks me everytime

How big can a dress get? I mean the sizes, shapes and styles amaze me. How can you possibly do anything in that. Another thing to look out for are the dresses at the end even though their not really dresses... more like bits of cloth! The DANCING! I have no words.

Production Company

Here is a rough idea of the style we would like our production company to look like. The one you see below is just a rough practice we made to see whether or not we like the idea. We will finalise this by changing colours, positioning and the girl in the picture (Me) will be dressed as a doll, hence why its called 'Doll House'.

Another Credit

This is another one of our credits however, it will be made as short as possible as it takes 17 seconds to spell out the name 'Lana' at the moment.

The Rite

I went to see The Rite on Thursday 3rd March with my media class at the cinema. It was basically about an American seminary student who traveled to Italy to take an exorcism course. I was excited about seeing this film but to be honest it wasn't really what i was expecting. It didn't meet up to my expectations. I thought it would have been scarier than it was and i would have enjoyed it a little more if it did scare me. It didn't frighten me at all, but i guess i was one of the very few who wasn't scared. It managed to scare many of the students in my class. Although the film didn't scare me i found it quite interesting mainly because i believe that things like this happen. I'm not sure about whether of not this is based on a true story but i done some research and found many websites that said the film is inspired by true events. You can see this in the beginning of the synopsis of the film which you will see below.

Below you can see more in depth information about the film which i took off a website.

Movie Info
Genre: Mystery & Suspense, Drama
Synopsis: "The battle against the Devil, which is the principal task of Saint Michael the Archangel, is still being fought today, because the Devil is still alive and active in the world." -Pope John Paul II "The Rite" is a supernatural thriller that uncovers the Devil's reach to even one of the holiest places on Earth. Inspired by true events, the film follows seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O'Donoghue), who is sent to study exorcism at the Vatican in spite of his own doubts about the controversial practice and even his own faith. Wearing his deep skepticism like armor, Michael challenges his superiors to look to psychiatry, rather than demons, in treating the possessed. Only when he's sent to apprentice with the unorthodox Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins)--a legendary priest who has performed thousands of exorcisms--does Michael's armor begin to fall. As he is drawn into a troubling case that seems to transcend even Father Lucas's skill, he begins to glimpse a phenomenon science can't explain or control...and an evil so violent and terrifying that it forces him to question everything he believes. Directed by Mikael Håfström ("1408"), "The Rite" stars Oscar (R) winner Anthony Hopkins ("Silence of the Lambs"), Colin O'Donoghue in his feature film debut, Alice Braga ("Predators"), Toby Jones ("Frost/Nixon"), with Ciarán Hinds ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2"), and Rutger Hauer ("Batman Begins," "Blade Runner"). Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose") produced the film under their Contrafilm banner. The screenplay is by Michael Petroni ("The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader"), suggested by the book by Matt Baglio. Richard Brener, Merideth Finn and Robert Bernacchi serve as executive producers, with Mark Tuohy co-producing. New Line Cinema presents, a Contrafilm production, a Mikael Håfström film, "The Rite." The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. This film has been rated PG-13 for disturbing thematic material, violence, frightening images and language including sexual references. -- (C) Warner Bros.

Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (2011)

'FBI agent Malcolm Turner and his stepson Trent go undercover at an all-girls performing arts school after Trent witnesses a murder'.

I saw the trailer to this on TV a few times and found it quite funny so i thought it would be a worthwhile trip to the cinema. I went to see it last week Saturday on the 19th. To be honest it wasn't quite what i expected it to be. I preferred the first one better. Although it did make me laugh a little it wasn't as funny as the first two.

Here's the trailer:

By the way i didn't go to see this out of choice, i had to look for a reasonable film to go and watch because of my 10 year old cousin.

The butterfly effect on E4 wednesday 16th february

I just watched the butterfly effect and decided to blog about it straight away whilst all my thoughts are fresh in my mind. Although its a little confusing and takes a bit of time to get into if you concentrate and keep up with what's going on its actually a really good film. It sure makes you think a lot and raises many questions. One question I kept asking myself was is this a dream or is it real? This is because the film jumps to different times and situations which is why it may be difficult for people to keep up with. The film mainly uses flashbacks often throughout the whole thing.

Its about a boy named Evan Treborn who grows up in a small town with his single, working mother and his friends. Evan suffers from memory blackouts where he suddenly finds himself somewhere else, confused. Everytime Evan finds himself somewhere else its always in a different confusing situation. His friends and mother hardly believe him, thinking he makes it up just to get out of trouble. As Evan grows up he has less of these blackouts until he seems to have recovered. Since the age of seven he has written a diary of his blackout moments so he can remember what happens. One day at college he starts to read one of his old diaries, and suddenly a flashback hits him like a brick!

I actually got a headache watching this and trying to understand what exactly was going on only because it made me think a lot. I do think its a great film to watch though. The way its all been put together is clever. Some scenes are really emotional and sad I nearly cried a few times but I managed to hold back the tears so now my throat hurts a little!

Pete's Blog

"WHAT'S THE POINT OF MEDIA EDUCATION?

Every now and again, usually at 'A' level results time, you get media coverage attacking the subject of Media Studies. David Buckingham's excellent presentation from the Media Magazine conference gives an overview of these attacks and offers some strong rebuttals of them. It happens at all levels, though, with people arguing that students shouldn't be 'wasting their time' with the media but should be learning to read and write and add up, whether it be children in primary schools, English in KS3 (last year's story about a school teaching about The Simpsons), at GCSE and A level ('dumbing down' when you supposedly should be doing Science and Languages) and even at university (where supposedly graduates in Media are heading for jobs in fast food outlets and nothing better).

Often Media teachers are put on the back foot trying to defend the subject from these attacks. A new project, which I am jointly co-ordinating with Jon Wardle from Bournemouth University, seeks to offer the opportunity to set out an agenda for studying the media, by asking a range of academics, teachers and others to write their own 'manifesto for media education'. We already have contributions, among others, from Henry Jenkins, David Buckingham and David Gauntlett and are adding more every week. We are keen to add the views of students, either as comments on the articles already there, or as full pieces, if you want to write one. We already have one video contribution from students which we will be adding to the site shortly, so if you'd rather make a video about your reasons for studying the media, that would be fine too!

Anyway, check it out, read the articles and see if you are inspired to respond- all welcome!"

Very Disturbing!

I can't get over any of the Saw movies i personally think they should be banned because i don't understand how anyone can come up with so many different ideas of torture. These movies aren't even scary their just really gruesome and can put ideas into sick peoples minds.

Very Angry Cat

I came across this whilst looking at Saw trailers

Another Credit

Here's a credit we tried out today with sherbet which looks pretty good so we may be including this in our opening as one of the credits.

Visit to the sweet shop

So as a group we took a trip to the sweet shop we planned to film in to see whether or not we would have permission to film in there.
Luckily they said YES!
So this is definitely our final idea. We will be going back on monday to crack on with our filming.

We bought a few sweets to do a practice of our credits. So thats what we will be doing in todays lesson so we have everything organised and we know what to do when we get there.
